On-Message founder Jacob "Jack" Jackson is in his 29th year as a communications professional. Building on his achievements
in front-line journalism, Jack combines his press background with advanced business training to provide positioning, messaging
and PR counsel that help clients attain their organizational objectives.
Over his career, Jack has worked with an array of public and private firms to execute corporate, product, issue and crisis
communication programs. His expertise stems from engagements in IT, consumer goods, med-tech and biotech, as well as the energy,
environment and power sectors.
On-Message is the second agency business Jack established. In 1997, he launched CommCentric Strategies, known for its communications
and marketing expertise with early stage growth companies. In mid-2000, before inaugurating On-Message, he sold CommCentric
to one of country's top-50 technology PR agencies.
Previously, Jack was an executive vice president at Shandwick PLC, then the world's largest independent PR agency, where he
opened and was Managing Director of the firm's Seattle office. In this capacity, Jack was lead PR counselor for Microsoft's
high-profile Web sites, including Microsoft Network, MSNBC.com news and the Expedia online travel service.
Before turning to public relations, Jack was a reporter for UPI, specializing in science and technology news; an editor and
writer for the Chicago Tribune-New York Daily News Syndicate; a writer and editor for the Harvard Medical School Health Letter;
and a producer for WCVB-TV, ABC's network affiliate in Boston.
Jackson earned his MBA in marketing, with high honors, from Boston University's Graduate School of Management. He holds a
bachelor's degree in science from the Pennsylvania State University. Since 2000, Jack has been on the executive leadership
team of the Boston section of the Public Relations Society of America. He currently serves as its ethics officer and is the
chapter's president-elect (2009 term). He is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from media relations to marketing, and is
an adjunct communication professor at Stonehill College.
